Here are a few links to applications that may enhance your use of the ~Alphagrip. You may find others on the AlphaGrip Google group at http://groups.google.com/group/alphagrip?lnk=lr. Click on any of the links below for a complete description and to download the application.

Please note, these applications only work on Windows computers.

The Andersen MouseBooster

The Andersen MouseBooster increases trackball speed. Once running, you can toggle it on or off by pressing the PrtSc button. To close the program, right click on the icon in the lower right-hand corner of your screen and select Exit.

The Andersen Remap

The Andersen Remap reorganizes the character configuration of the AlphaGrip, reducing the load on the thumb keys by placing all characters on the finger keys. It also adds Ctrl and Alt functionality to the right side of the AG-5. Once running, you can toggle it on or off by pressing the PrtSc button. To close the program, right click on the icon in the lower right-hand corner of your screen and select Exit.

The Ctrl-Alt Duplicator

The Ctrl-Alt Duplicator adds Control and Alt functionality to the Enter and Back Space buttons. When activated, the Ent button functions as CTRL and the BkSpace button functions as ALT. To generate the Enter or Back Space function, simply press Shift+Ent or Shift+BkSpace, respectively.

The executable program can be toggled on and off with the PrtSc key. To close the program, right click on the icon in the lower right-hand corner of your screen and select Exit.

The Shift Duplicator

The Shift Duplicator gives Capital Shift functionality to the Print Screen button. Once launched, the program can be toggled on and off by pressing Shift+Tab. Toggle the program off to give the PrtSc button its original functionality.

To close the program, right click on the icon in the lower right-hand corner of your screen and select Exit.

The Andersen Remap B

Carl Andersen's second remap - now he DOES use the Red and Green Shifts! Can't this guy make up his mind?

Shift+Click Duplicator

AlphaGrip user Doug Sims created a "Shift+Click" Duplicator script with AutoHotkey. Doug's script generates a Shift+Left Click or Shift+Right Click by replacing the Shift with the Tab key. Toggle the program on and off with the Print Screen key to give the Tab key its original functionality. You can download an executable version of Doug's script here.

Mouse Looper

I wrote this simple program to help fight against the slow trackball. HGR_MouseLooper pays attention to the location of your pointer on the screen. If you move the mouse off an edge of the screen area, it will loop the pointer around to the opposite edge. This cuts the maximal distance between two points on the screen in half, making the slow trackball less objectionable. The program detects your desktop settings and needs no configuration. Like the Anderson Trackball accelerator, this is written in Autohotkey. To close the program, right click the icon in the taskbar and click 'Exit.'

Give it a try! It's fun and efficient, once you get used to it, though a little annoying at first (and will REALLY confuse anyone who uses your computer.) Cheers, ~Hans
